The Shoestring welcomes story pitches that adhere to these guidelines. Please get in touch.
- 250 words or less
- An analysis of power relating to your story
- A bit of the who/what/when/where/why
- What research do you plan to do?
- Who will be interviewed?
- If it isn’t obvious, what is the local angle?
Once you’ve contacted us, an editor will be in touch within a week. All submissions meeting the above criteria welcome, but pitches featuring themes of food/environmental justice, housing rights, organizing with and by societally marginalized groups or featuring deep dives into local history will be extra welcome.
